In November 2010, Guillaume Guilherme and Michiel Vandevelde launched a project called PUBLICOPENSTUDIOSPACE. The concept reimagined public space as an open studio where anyone could join in and participate in exercises we created and practiced. Two central questions guided the project: Who is the other? and How does creating and presenting work in public spaces—city squares, streets, parks, and public buildings—differ from the theatre space, and what insights can this offer for our artistic practice?
